  • Proposed Merger between Everychild Trust and Partners in Learning Academy Trust

    Tue 20 Sep 2022

The Trust Boards of Everychild Trust and Partners in Learning Academy Trust are currently asking our school communities for their views regarding a proposed merger between the two trusts.

The Senior Leadership Team and trustees of Everychild Trust and Partners in Learning Academy Trust have worked closely together for some time and are excited by the opportunity that further and closer collaboration may have for the educational and pastoral outcomes for our pupils. We believe
that increasing collaboration between the two organisations offers benefits for pupils, parents and staff.

We are keen to hear your views regarding this and will amend our proposals to merge in light of feedback gained from you.

For further information regarding the proposal to merge, please find below.

Which trusts are proposing to merge?

Everychild Trust and Partners in Learning Academy Trust are proposing to merge. This will result in a local trust formed of the following schools:

    • Hatchlands Primary School (Surrey)
    • Leaps Nursery (Surrey)
    • Sandcross School (Surrey)
    • Baldwins Hill Primary School (West Sussex)
    • Blackwell Primary School (West Sussex)
    • Halsford Park Primary School (West Sussex)

Each trust provides a range of support to each school, including providing back-office services (such as cleaning and catering) cost-effectively, supporting staff in developing their teaching and learning, and supporting schools through processes such as recruitment and Ofsted inspections.

How will the schools benefit from the merger?

Changes from the merger will largely be at the central trust level. When considering merger, both Everychild Trust and Partners in Learning Academy Trust Trust Boards have agreed a commitment to:

    • Maintaining the distinct identity of each school in the Trust in alignment with the Trust’s Mission, Vision and Values.
    • Excellent support for all students, including those with SEND, and strong pastoral care
    • Community focus and engagement
    • Professional development for all staff
    • A broad and challenging curriculum with wide range of enrichment opportunities
    • Excellent academic outcomes in a supportive environment
    • Taking advantage of the benefits of being in a family of schools
    • High standards of professionalism in all areas
    • Best possible use of resources
